Gilles Boeuf was born in Boulogne-Billancourt (France) , son of a French-Russian father and a Dutch mother. Together with his sister, Marie Boeuf, he wrote a children's book on his family: The last prince.
Since his debut as a poet in 1998 at publishing house Perdu with Poems he published the collection In the green light at Meulenhoff , followed by two collections at the Contrabas. His newest book Generations appeared in January 2020.For the Foundation Lonely Funeral he writes poems for the dead without relatives.
His photographic work was published in a book about French artists in the Netherlands. December 2021 his self-published photobook PLACE appeared.
Gilles lives and works in The Hague.
